Young Australian takes second MotoGP crown in style at home round…
With two races remaining in the MotoGP World Championship, Casey Stoner wrapped up the 2011 MotoGP World Championship with a victory at his home race at Phillip Island, on Sunday 16th October. Wearing his distinctive white, red and blue Nolan X-802 helmet Stoner crushed the competition, taking the win – and MotoGP title – from pole position.
It has been a fantastic season to date for Stoner, with nine victories, one second place, five thirds and 11 pole positions in his first season with the Repsol Honda Team. He has finished on the podium in every race except one and, in addition to 15 podium positions, Casey has also recorded new lap records at six circuits; Silverstone, Mugello, Indianapolis, Misano, Aragon and Motegi.
Known for his incredible natural riding ability Stoner is also very interested in the equipment he uses while racing, and in 2008 played a key role in development of the Nolan X-802 he has worn ever since. The X-802 is the racing helmet of the Nolan Group, and the design represents the culmination of years of experience at the very top flight of motorcycle racing.
The Nolan X-802 features three sizes of composite fibre outer shell with an ASD (Adjustable Stability Device) built in to aid stability at speed and extract hot air from the interior. The integrated front aerodynamic vent, side air extractors, direct entry front air intake and indirect entry upper air intake all work together with the ASD to maintain comfort under the most severe conditions. The anti-fog visor of the X-802 has an impressively wide field of vision and a superbly fluid mechanism, and the triple-density removable cheek pads utilise STEADYFIT, ensuring comfort and security even at the pressure high speeds bring.
Two versions of the Casey Stoner replica Nolan X-802 are available; the famous white, red and blue version based around the Australian flag – with added kangaroo motifs – and the Stoner Phillip Island Metal White. Both are available in sizes XS-XXL, with an RRP of £419.99.
