What's good?

I once interviewed a former prolific bike thief who, while assuring me he could defeat any chain, repeatedly and without prompting used the phrase "even an Abus Granit". It's the best recommendation I can imagine. In his mind, that branding appeared above all others to signal a more difficult task ahead. If you want something resembling a ferry anchor chain, such products are available. But if you want something that provides the best deterrent possible in a form that's possible to carry on your bike I don't think you'll find better on the market than this.

What's not?

It may be an effective deterrent but at £280 I can't help feeling I may already have been robbed. A 1.4-metre chain costs £250 and a 1.1-metre one is £220.
